Butterfly House began as a small four room adobe in the 1930s. It was added to in the 1950s, or thereabout, and again in 2000. It came up for sale in 2000, and since it was adjacent to the Rancho Jacona property, it was purchased and added. In response to frequent requests for larger houses, an annex with two bedrooms and two baths was added and the interior rooms were opened up to make larger spaces.

Butterfly has four bedrooms and four baths. Three of the bedrooms can be either kings or two twins and each of these is large enough for an additional roll-away bed. The fourth bedroom is a queen.   The house has no sofabed.

The living room is large, as is the TV room/dining room—seating twelve. The house also has a full kitchen, and a laundry,  and three patios, one of them fully enclosed. All bedrooms open upon a patio as does the kitchen. The house has evaporative cooling in summer, radiant heat in winter.

It will sleep from 8 to 11 and it is a favorite for large families or up to four couples traveling together.   It is located a short stroll across the pasture from the other houses.

Butterfly House has five parking spaces.
