Handicapped Accessible : Yes - no steps inside or out via the courtyard. No full handicapped bath.
Butterfly House sits on a landscaped acre with a large terrace, with a dining
patio with fountain and another fully walled patio for sun bathing. The living
room, shown below, opens into a long TV room/dining room that seats twelve at table.
Five Day Rental Please as the Minimum
Because this house is a very large one, Rancho Jacona does not rent Butterfly House for fewer than five days.
Description:
Separate from the grounds of our other houses and set on its own fenced acre yard, down the drive and across the lane, is this exceptionally spacious rental house. It is large enough to accommodate extended families and friends.
It is set in its own gated and fenced yard, with a long loggia-like front patio and deep colonnade facing out toward the distant Jemez mountain range with the Los Alamos Mesas in the low foreground.
Front door: from the front terrace, one enters the large living room with colorful furnishings, wall and table art, cactus and succulent plants, and glass doored fireplace with mantle and "butterfly fresco" above.
Adjacent to the living room is the long dining room with its southwestern refectory table that can welcome large dinner gatherings.
The colorfully tiled kitchen has its own breakfast and coffee room next to the separate laundry room.
Out the back door is another patio. It faces east , toward the morning sun and a newly planted grove of evergreen and fruit trees. Guests have said they enjoyed the cherries with their morning cereal.
Off this patio are two bedroom suites with doors opening from the patio - not the casa.
Back in the main house there are another two bedrooms with baths and their own walled patio with more ornamental iron work. Here you will see finely wrought iron filigree butterflies framed by the adobe walls.

Butterfly House has four bedrooms each with its own bath.
The three larger bedrooms may be made up either as a king bed or as two twin beds; the remaining bedroom is a queen. There is space for a crib or futon in each king bedroom. Each bedroom opens onto a patio.
There is no sofa bed.
