500 sq. ft. studio built in the 1950's.
With either one king bed or two twin beds, one sofa bed, a crib may be added.  Pleasant private patio and view of the Jemez Mountains.

Description:

Parrot is a large studio casita. The entrance is off its patio which is under an old apricot tree. Former guests have included ravenous jam makers. The patio looks out west over the Rio Grande valley toward the Jemez Mountains in the background. At night the sparkling lights are on the Los Alamos mesa - perched just above the horizon line. In the late afternoons of summer, thunder storms bunch up in the mountain folds and frequently make their way across the valley to Rancho Jacona.

The patio neighbors a sunken garden with little streamlets running through it and is flanked by a rock garden along its western side.

Inside the casita, a large living area blends into the sleeping area that is lit from floor to ceiling by a stained glass window.

The separate kitchen and the full bath open from the sleeping area.

Parrot is very near the rabbit pen, close to the back meadow, close to the pol and pond, and right next to the arroyo trail for a walk or run.

Internet WiFi connection is likely in Parrot (not guaranteed ).

After two years of kvetching, kicking rocks, and hiring a group of local tribal dancers to perform wireless dances (not very different from rain dances, except drier, afterward) Rancho Jacona is pleased to announce that we have wireless service. The dining room next to the office has been fitted up with access for anyone with a wireless ready laptop. Cost to you is a one time $10 fee, which will buy you the password for the duration of your stay. No telling. We’re swearing you to secrecy and changing the password four times a year. Access will be limited to office hours. Speed will vary according to hook-ups.
